Issue Details

When I run a test for a PXI Switch card using the NI Switch Health Center, I get the following error:

The test cannot run because the Integrated Relay Test terminals are shorted. This is usually caused by specific combinations of failed relays on the resource.
Refer to the NI Switch Health Center Help for more information about locating the resource that is causing this error.

Solution

Here are the troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

  • Verify that the versions of the relevant drivers and software are correct and up to date.
  • Ensure compatibility between the software and the hardware components being used.
  • Check whether the issue occurs with all cards or just specific ones to determine if it might be a software-related problem. If only a few cards are failing and additional modules are unavailable for testing, consider reinstalling the driver.
  • Test each card individually while ensuring that all other devices are disconnected from the main chassis.
  • Use the NI Switch front panel to check if it can control the relays of the problematic cards. This can provide insights, as errors may still appear even if the relays operate correctly in a test environment.

If none of the steps resolve the problem, please contact NI Technical Support.
