When I tried to activate the software in NI License Manager using the serial number I purchased from NI, I received an error stating that the computer ID was invalid, and I was unable to activate it. Under what circumstances is the computer ID considered invalid?

Solution

The computer ID is typically generated from the MAC address of the primary network interface card (NIC). However, if this NIC is rendered inaccessible due to security software or certain settings, the computer ID will become invalid, and you will be unable to use the license.
