Error 314 Cannot Initialize the Index Interface in DIAdem

Issue Details

After launching Diadem, I get the following error:

Der DataFinder kann wegen eines internen Fehlers nicht gestartet werden.
(314) "Cannot initialize the index interface - C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\DatafinderDesktop\bin\adaptors\DFDB_Standard.dll"

DIAdem does start up after the error, but I cannot see the saved search areas in the NAVIGATOR panel.

Solution

This problem can be caused by an unstable state of the "My DataFinder" instance in the computer. Resetting its index can fix this problem.

In DIAdem:

1. Open the NAVIGATOR panel.
2. Go to Settings>>My DataFinder>>Reset.

3. Click the Execute button next to the Reset Index option:

4. A warning will be displayed mentioning that reindexing may take some time, click OK to continue.
5. After the reset process the DataFinder will be running correctly and the search areas will be displayed again.

Additional Information

Choosing the Reset index and configuration option can also recover the index from an unstable state, but existing configurations, like the saved search areas, will be removed.
