NI Package Manager Error: An Error Occurred While Getting the List Of Installed Packages

Issue Details

I am trying to install NI Package Manager in my system using the installer downloaded from NI website but I get the below error. Due to this I cannot install any other software or driver.

An error occurred while getting the list of installed packages.

Additional error information:
There was a problem with calling to the database of installed packages (SQL function call 'sqlite3_prepare_v2' returned error code 1 with error message 'no such table: InstalledPackage'). Note: In order to perform the current operation, you might need to run nipkg.exe as Administrator.

Solution

This error is caused if your system earlier had NI Package Manager which was not un-installed properly. So certain temporary files are interfering with the NI Package Manager installation. To resolve this issue delete the 'NI Package Manager' folder located at C:\ProgramData\National Instruments. Once deleted, re-run the installer as an administrator and you should be able to proceed with the installation normally.
