Issue Details

When trying to access a Firewire camera in NI MAX I get a crash that points to "Noncontinuable exception (0xC0000025)".

My camera was working correctly before and the only change I applied was the KB955408 hotfix for IEEE 1394 cameras for Windows XP SP3.

I'm not sure why this issue is appearing, what are the causes of this issue and how can I fix it?

Solution

This issue is related to the BIOS or the framegrabber card used for your Firewire camera. You can follow these steps to determine what is the cause of the issue:
  1. Ensure your computer is running the latest BIOS for the motherboard. You can obtain this by contacting the manufacturer of your computer and checking if there's a BIOS update.
  2. If bandwidth is not an issue you can remove the KB955408 hotfix from your computer.
  3. If you need to apply the hotfix, test a different frame grabber on the computer as the issue can be related to the PCIe card.
