NI VLM overwrites options in FlexNet Options File whenever changes are applied in VLM.

Updated Sep 10, 2020

What to do when NI Volume License Manager (VLM) overwrites options in FlexNet Options File when changes are applied in VLM.

  1. Create a new file called CustomOptions.txt, in the same directory as nilm.opt file, if it is not already present.
  2. Stop NI VLM Server.
  3. Add the required option(s) (e.g. NOLOG DENIED) to both CustomOptions.txt and nilm.opt.
  4. Save both the files.
  5. Start NI VLM Server.
*The newly added options will now be preserved whenever changes are applied in VLM.
