- Optimize your custom properties. You need to do this so that you can build your custom hierarchies for your federation or ASAM ODS server
If you are using a DataFinder federation, go to Settings --> Federation….

If you are using an ASAM ODS server, go to Settings --> ASAM ODS.

- In the dialog box that appears, select user-defined hierarchy and select Create Model Hierarchy.

- To start defining your hierarchy, you need to know whether your properties are saved at the File/Test or Group/Measurement level. Based on that select the appropriate option in the Model hierarchy section. In this example, I will use Group/Measurement properties.

- Click on New Level Below

- A new dialog box will appear and the drop-down menu will show you a list of all of the available optimized properties.

-
Repeat steps 4 and 5 to complete your hierarchy.

- To see a preview of how the data will look in client software, click on the Data Preview button.

- Expand the data model to explore the data setup.

-
After reviewing that the data hierarchy is correct click Close and then OK to exit the Create Model Hierarchy dialog box.
- Click OK to exit out of the configuration dialog box. Acknowledge that the server will restart.
-
Use client software, such as DIAdem or LabVIEW DataFinder Toolkit to connect to and view your data hierarchy.
