Issue Details

During the accreditation process for EMVCo 3.0, we noticed that the coordinates listed in the accreditation document were listed as (z,r1,φ1), in polar coordinates. However, the NI NFC test suite displays the coordinates in cartersian coordinates (x = mm, y = mm).

Why are the units in cartesian coordinates? Will EMVCo certify my tool as accredited if the units are displayed this way?

Solution

Nearly all of our customers prefer to see the positions displayed in cartesian coordinates, rather than polar coordinates. As a result, we have made the decision to display the positions in that manner.

EMVCo knows about this decision and has certified our tool as is.

Additional Information

For your convenience, we have attached a Microsoft Excel document which will convert the cartesian coordinates to polar coordinates.
