Issue Details

  • When I open the Online Slave Device State page for my EtherCAT expansion chasis, I only see the text Cannot display selected Category page.
  • When I go to the EtherCAT:Parameters page, the table stays empty.

Solution

For displaying this pages, LabVIEW does need certain VIs.

The error message can occur, when some of the needed VIs are missing.

To check, if the VIs are existing on your computer, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 20xx\vi.lib\LabVIEW Targets\FPGA, where you have to exchange 20xx with your LabVIEW Version.
The VIs needed for displaying the Online Slave Device State are in the subfolder ECat.

If the folder is missing, try the following:
  • Uninstall the NI-Industrial Communications for EtherCAT driver and install it again.
  • Copy the folder from a computer with a working NI-Industrial Communications for EtherCAT installation.
  • If the points mentioned above did not solve the issue, try reinstalling the LabVIEW FPGA module.
