Set the Switch Topology in NI TestStand IVI Switch Steps

Issue Details

I want to connect the routes of a PXI multiplexer module using the IVI Switch Step type in TestStand. The module supports several topologies but they do not seem to be configurable in the IVI Switch Step based on the options of the dialog box.

 

 

 

Solution

The switch topology is not configurable in the Edit IVI Switch Step dialog box. To change the topology, follow these steps.
  1. Annotate the Logical Name value in the Edit IVI Switch Step dialog.
  2. Open NI Measurement & Automation Explorer and expand IVI Drivers > Driver Sessions.
  3. Select the session with the logical name recorded in Step 1 (i.e. "PXI1Slot3_ivi").
  4. Go to the General tab and modify the Driver Setup value with the desired topology.
  1. Click Save IVI Configuration to save the configuration.
