Issue Details

I'm trying to connect a SystemLink Server to a SystemLink Client, and the Client version is newer than the Server version. I'm unable to get the Client to connect to the Server, is it possible that the difference between the Server and Client versions is causing the issue?

Solution

The SystemLink Server can only work with previous versions of SystemLink Clients and cannot support any newer versions, whether they are major or minor updates of SystemLink.

Problems with connectivity between SystemLink Servers and updated SystemLink Clients can occur, even after a small version update, because of discrepancies in version compatibility. To resolve this problem, verify that your SystemLink Server is upgraded to be at least the same version as your SystemLink Client, and then follow the guidelines given to set up a SystemLink Server and its associated Client(s) for your desired target.

To assess the compatibility of software components within a SystemLink client environment, refer to the article titled "What Do You Need to Connect Targets to SystemLink?" found in the SystemLink documentation.

Additional Information

You can use the SystemLink Server with SystemLink Clients that are up to three major versions older.
