Plugin Errors When Uninstalling Software Using NI Package Manager

Issue Details

  • When trying to uninstall my software using NI Package Manager I receive the error below:
We encountered a problem: 

A Plugin returned one or more errors at the end of the transaction.

Additional error information: 
The path to the MetaUninstaller executable could not be found on the system.

  • I'm having the same error message with different additional error information:
Additional error information: An error occurred in OnTransactionBegin.
 

Solution

This may occur when the install is corrupted, and so the uninstaller files are not found in the file explorer on your PC. 
  • To fix this please try to follow the steps below: 
  1. Download the attached files- InstallValidator.exe and uninst.exe
  2. Navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Shared\NIUninstaller
  3. Please copy the downloaded files into this location. 
  4. Try uninstalling the software again.
  • If you then receive errors in LabVIEW regarding missing resources please repair all installed software in NI Package Manager.
  • If repairing the software in NI Package Manager doesn't work, and as a last resort, remove all the NI software by following these steps:
  1. Remove the software in NI Package Manager.
  2. Remove the NI Package Manager.
  3. Install the software you want to keep on your computer.
