PCIe-GPIB and PCIe-8430/8 Intermittently Hang and Stop Acquiring Data

Issue Details

My application periodically reads the correct data from the peripheral and most of the time “times out”

We just noticed that both the GBIP card and the Serial card (both NI products) are still on the same IRQ16 even after the BIOS update.

What can I do to make sure my application acquires data correctly?

Solution

The issue occurs when the cards are installed in PCIe slots with different bandwidth, one on an x4 and one on an x16.

The issue can be solved by installing both cards on PCIe slots with the same bandwidth, be it a x4 or x16 slot.
