Can I Downgrade My NI Software From a Service Pack to the Base Version?

Issue Details

I have downloaded LabVIEW 2019 SP1, but have realised that I only have a license for LabVIEW 2019.

Can I downgrade from SP1 to the base version without needing to uninstall and reinstall the program?

Solution

Due to the way the NI software is built, it is not possible to locally downgrade from a Service Pack to the original version. This is because the Service Pack is not an additional patch, but a separate version of LabVIEW to the base version of that year.

As such, to switch from LabVIEW 2019 SP1 to LabVIEW 2019 (or for any other year) you will need to uninstall the currently installed version and reinstall the desired version.
