Solution
This issue is often caused by a corrupted
"user.config"
or
.lc
file.
Possible solutions:
- Navigate to
"C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\National_Instruments\NILicenseManager.exe_StrongName_bs1g4w2dihztiyavscam4ec3fsso0jgn\4.0.0.0"
and delete the "user.config"
file. Once this file is deleted, test if NI License Manager starts successfully. - If NI License Manager still hangs on the splash screen, navigate to
"C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\License Manager\Licenses"
, make a back-up copy of the files in the folder, delete the original files, and test again if NI License Manager starts. - If NI License Manager starts properly after completing the previous step, copy the files from your back-up folder back to
"C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\License Manager\Licenses"
one-by-one testing if NI License Manager starts. When you encounter a .lc
file that causes NI License Manager to hang on the splash screen again, you have discovered the corrupted .lc
file. Delete this .lc
file.
1. Delete the corrupted .lc
file.
2. Open NI Package Manager.
3. Search for the corresponding software.
4. Perform a
repair. This will generate a new
.lc
file for that software.
