Error -2147220616 In VeriStand Hardware Discovery Wizard

Issue Details

I have a VeriStand Project and when I use the Hardware Discovery Wizard to try and find the hardware in my real-time system, I get: 
Error 2147220616
The NI System Configuration API is not installed at the specified target

Solution

This error occurs when NI System Configuration is either not installed on your real-time target, or is in a bad state and requires reinstallation.
  1. Open NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) and find your real-time system
  2. expand the Software tree under your target and verify if NI System Configuration is installed
    1. If it is not installed, right-click on Software and select Add/Remove Software and select NI System Configuration to be installed
    2. If NI System Configuration is installed, right-click on your real-time target in MAX and select Format Disk. Once the Format is complete, reinstall onto your real-time target the VeriStand engine, NI System Configuration and any other software you need for your application.
