Issue Details

According to the description of PXIe -2542 Specification, the frequency band is 10MHz~6.6GHz, I need a Switch to be used in low frequency signal applications, such as 10kHz, in PXIe-2542, what will happen to the signal after passing through the Switch output?

Solution

First, let's check the hardware circuit diagrams of PXIe-2542

PXIe-2542 is mainly composed of the IC:PE42552MLI chip, therefore, the performance of PE42552MLI determines the performance index of PXIe-2542. Looking at the Datasheet of PE42552MLI shows the following:

The IIP3 indicator determines that if there is a low frequency signal passing through the Switch PXIe-2542, there will be large harmonics or spurious existence, which will seriously affect the signal quality; therefore, it is not recommended that customers use the switch for out of frequency range in spec.
