GPIB Can Communicate in NI MAX but Fail in LabVIEW Shipping Example

Issue Details

I tried to run LabVIEW Shipping Example Simple GPIB.vi but pop out error 7: Nonexistent GPIB board.

I tested the communication with the GPIB instrument in NI MAX by sending *IDN? command and return product information successfully.

Solution

  1. Make sure the GPIB address is the only number for this case. You may check the IP address in NI MAX.

  2. Restart the PC and run the shipping example again.
  3. Enable Tulip passport in NI MAX. Refer to VISA Tulip Passports Are No Longer on My System - NI
