Issue Details

I have a module like the NI-9472 or the NI-9403, which are C Series Static Digital IO Modules; do they require calibration? If so, where do I find their calibration procedure?

Solution

C Series Static Digital IO Modules do not require calibration; hence, you will not be able to find a calibration procedure for those types of modules in the Calibration Executive User Manual or a manual calibration procedure.

Additional Information

Most C Series Digital I/O Modules are Static Digital I/O as they do not have an internal clock and use the clock provided by the cDAQ. For this reason, there are no components that need to be calibrated in the module. On the other hand, cards like the X Series PCIe o PXIe do have an internal clock for operations like counters and timing IO. This is the reason why you can find in their specifications characteristics like Static IO or Timing IO. These cards do include counter verification and therefore a calibration procedure.
