Issue Details

I have a PXIe-1095, PXIe-1092, or PXIe-1084 and I would like to set Inhibit Mode since I don't have access to the front power button, however, I can't see the dropdown menu for this mode on Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX), by going to System Settings>>Power Supplies.

Solution

Only the PXIe-1095, PXIe-1092, and PXIe-1084 with the Timing and Synchronization upgrade will allow you to set the inhibit mode on NI MAX. The Timing and Synchronization upgrade is required for access to the Remote Inhibit signal. Without this upgrade, you can still set your chassis on Manual Mode through the backplane's switches, however, it will always be powered on when AC power is connected. Refer to the article Remote Inhibit, Voltage/Fault Monitoring, and Remote System Monitoring on PXI Chassis to determine if your PXIe chassis supports Remote Inhibit.

Additional Information

If your chassis lacks the Timing & Synchronization Upgrade, you can still power it up remotely using Wake-on-LAN (WoL). For more details, please refer to our Knowledge Base: Turning on NI PXI Express System Using An Ethernet Connection.
