I attempt to install NI Software/Driver through NI Package Manager (NIPM) and I receive the following error: An unexpected error occurred while calling libarchive " (%2)

How can I fix it?

Solution

The issue occurs due to Symantec Encryption Desktop is installed on your PC. Symantec Endpoint Encryption protects sensitive information and ensures regulatory compliance. It encrypts all files on the hard drive, sector-by-sector, for maximum security.
To resolve this issue, contact your IT Department to disable Symantec Encryption Desktop on your machine while you are installing NI Software.

Additional Information

Note: Disabling the Symantec Encryption Desktop on a personal machine requires Administrator rights.
