Error -1073807302 When Calling viFindRsrc With Keysight Hardware

Issue Details

• I have a 3rd party GPIB controller but when I call the viFindRsrc() function, I receive error -1073807302. Why does this happen?
• NI MAX is not detecting my Keysight GPIB controller and communicating with the device produces the below error. How can I fix this?

Solution

1. Verify that the NIVisaTulip.dll Passport is enabled in NI MAX.
   • Follow the steps in Using Both NI GPIB and Keysight HPIB Controllers in the Same System for instructions.
2. Check whether NI-VISA has been set as the Primary VISA.
   • Refer to After Installing 3rd Party VISA Software NI VISA No Longer Works for instructions.
   • Note: If NI-VISA is already set to Primary, try setting Keysight VISA to Primary first, and then reset NI-VISA as Primary.
3. Ensure that NI-488.2 is enabled.
   • Follow the steps in Use Keysight (HP Agilent) GPIB Devices with NI Software to complete this.
4. Check Windows Device Manager to confirm that the GPIB Controller is correctly identified.
   • If the device is not recognised, reinstall the device drivers.
