Solution
Using Set Color Tool
You can change the front panel background color using the
Set Color tool in the Tools palette (
View»Tools Palette). The
Set Color tool is at the bottom of the palette and looks like a paintbrush with two squares on the left. You can click on this box to change the cursor to the brush, as shown in the following image:
Then, change the color by clicking on the box itself. Alternatively, you can right-click on the object you want to customize and select the specific color you want on the object.
There are two squares in the Set Color tool because certain objects on the front panel use two colors by default. The following image shows a Numeric Control and how the two boxes correlate to the two colors used by the object.
Using Environment Options
- Select Tools»Options to display the Options window.
- Select Environment from the Category list.
- Remove the checkmark from the Use default color box in the Colors section.
- Click on the rectangle below the Front Panel label to display the color picker.
In LabVIEW 2011 or newer versions, in the color picker, select the Classic Object color from the User options to be able to revert the color change made and return to the default option. Classic Object has values of red, blue and green 179.
Using Pane Properties
Right-click on the LabVIEW window scroll bar and select Properties to open the Pane Properties window.
In the Appearance tab, you can choose the background from the default options or browse to an image previously saved on your computer. Once an image has been selected for the background, use the Position dropdown menu to select whether you want your image to be Stretch, Center, or Tile. Click OK to apply the changes made and close the Pane Properties window.
