LabVIEW: The Network Connection was Closed by the Peer

Issue Details

I am trying to check remote system status from TestStand using the Check Remote System Status step and I am getting the following error. How should I resolve it?

LabVIEW: The network connection was closed by the peer. If you are using the Open VI Reference function on a remote VI Server connection, verify that the machine is allowed access by selecting Tools>>Options>>VI Server on the server side.

Solution

Performing the following steps in the remote system should solve this issue.

  1. In LabVIEW of the remote system, click Tools >> Options >> VI Server.
  2. Click Add under Machine Access and insert * as the value of the Machine name/address.
  4. Click OK to close the Options dialogue boximage.png

Additional Information

This error happens because the local system is not able to access the remote system.

It could also be related to connection instability. Please ping your target and make sure it responds correctly.
