Issue Details

I have used Thunderbolt Remote Control Module(PXIe-8301) to control 2 chassis at 1 PXIe controller(PXIe-8881). I connected 2 chassis to PXIe controller via thunderbolt port and then I confirmed all the chassis had been recognized well. Sometimes, I realized that chassis numbers defined at NI MAX had been changed without any inputs from me. Why does this situation happen?

Solution

If users use 2 chassis with Thunderbolt Remote Control Module at the same time, the recognition orders might be changed in some situation like rebooting host PC. Therefore, 'Chassis Number' will be changed according to recognition orders change even when nothing was edited by the users. To avoid this issue, users should choose daisy chain multiple PXI/PXIe chassis. Please refer to the link.
