Issue Details

When I run the Self-Calibration feature in my SCXI module, I get the following message:
The device could not be calibrated.
Status Code: -200546.
External calibration failed, and the external calibration data has not been changed. Make sure that the reference signal used for the calibration is stable and that the voltage matches the value specified to the calibration software. Disconnect the device from any external signals that might be introducing noise.

Why am I getting this error if I am running Self-Calibration and not external?

Solution

If this error shows up when running Self-Calibration, it could be that the fuses in the backplane of the SCXI system have been damaged.

1. Check that the Region/Voltage tumbler has the correct power voltage setting. This can damage the fuses if it is not correctly defined.
2. Once you check the voltage tumbler, check the fuses and replace them if needed, as explained in the user manual of your SCXI chassis.
  • For example, in the SCXI-1000 User Manual, pages 22-27, it is explained how to check the fuses and replace them, on page 16 you can check a mechanical drawing showing the location of the fuses and the tumbler.
