Issue Details

I am using a PXIe-4339 module in a continuous acquisition voltage input DAQmx task. In my LabVIEW VI, I am setting reference clock source as PXIe CLK 100. My chassis reference clock is  sourced from a master chassis through the chassis backplane HDMI connector. When the HDMI cable is removed abruptly during acquisition, my VI aborts and I receive the below error-

Error -200246 occurred at Voltage - Continuous Input_Test.vi
Possible reason(s):
PLL has lost phase-lock to the external reference clock. Make sure your reference clock is connected and that it is within the jitter and voltage level specifications at all times. Also, make sure the reference clock rate is correctly specified at all times

Solution

This is a known issue with PXIe-4339 module's old firmware. In order to fix this issue, kindly update the module's firmware to 22.5.0f86 or a higher version by following the steps below -
  1. Install DAQmx 2022 Q3 or a higher version. Reboot the system once installation is finished.
  2. Open NI MAX and select your NI PXIe-4339 module --> Make ‘Firmware Update’ setting as ‘Driver-Managed’' --> Click Save and let NI MAX Refresh.

After following the above steps, the PXIe-4339 module should continue acquisition and switch to internal reference when the HDMI cable is removed abruptly.
