My FSW-0010 Quicksyn Synthesizer Is Unable to Generate Pulse Modulation Signal

Issue Details

I have a QuickSyn FSW-0010 or FSW-0020 frequency synthesizer and I am unable to generate Pulse Modulation signal at the RF Output.

Solution

In order to generate Pulse Modulation signal through a Quicksyn frequency synthesizer, the below conditions must be satisfied - 
  • The synthesizer must have Option 5 enabled. This can be verified by referring to a sticker on the synthesizer's body or through the QuickSyn Soft Front Panel GUI. If this option is not enabled, contact your local NI Account Manager for upgrade options.

  • You must provide an external CMOS compatible signal on the PULSE SMA connector on the device.
  • You must enable the Pulse Modulation boolean button on the QuickSyn Soft Front Panel -
