Cannot Upgrade BIOS cRIO-904x Due to Warning USB Not Found

Issue Details

I tried to upgrade my cRIO-904x BIOS by following the "README__BIOS_UPDATE_INSTRUCTIONS" file in the downloaded "BIOS_cRIO-904x_2.0.3f0_USB" file.
I have inserted the bootable USB disk to USB hub that connected to the cRIO-904x.
Even though bootable USB disk can be recognized in cRIO-904x, but when I selected the USB disk during BIOS upgrade, there is warning dialog pop-up as follow:

Solution

The cRIO's BIOS might not properly recognize the bootable USB disk. In order to solve the issue and upgrade the BIOS:

  • Make sure the USB is properly formatted before convert the USB to bootable USB.

  • Try to use another USB disk, to convert it to bootable USB and connect to cRIO.

  • If you are using USB hub, please try to use another brand of USB hub, or

  • Insert directly the bootable USB disk into cRIO without using USB hub.
