Issue Details

I have four sets of PXIe-8861 (Linux RT) and PXIe-1084, each containing a PXIe-4304.The PXIe-4304 modules in these four sets of Chassis need to synchronize. I am trying to export the start trigger from the terminal PFI0.

The following error occurs:

Solution

The PXIe-4304 does not have an "ai/StartTrigger" terminal. Instead, it has "te0/StartTrigger", "te1/StartTrigger", "te2/StartTrigger", and "te0/StartTrigger", which VeriStand doesn't know how to handle. If you want to synchronize the PXIe-4304 modules, you must have other DAQ hardware present, which has an "ai/StartTrigger" and supports exporting the ai/StartTrigger from PFI, such as a PXI multifunction I/O module - PXIe-6345. This module is set to the Chassis master hardware synchronization device and exports a starter trigger from a PFI terminal. See Figure 1.

In other chassis, the PXIe-4304 imports the start trigger from the Trigger line. See Figure 2.

Additional Information

PXIe-4300 has an "ai/StartTrigger" terminal, but it also can't export a start trigger from a PFI terminal, as the PXIe-4300 PFI lines are input-only. If you try to export a start trigger from its PFI terminal, the following error will show:
