Solution
To solve the issue with RFSA:
This error can be caused by several factors, including sable issues, no valid self-calibration data of the device, and external LO configuration problems. To address this error, follow these preliminary troubleshooting steps:
- Ensure that all cables are intact and securely connected. Look for any signs of damage and replace any faulty cables.
- Disconnect and then reconnect all IA connectors to ensure they are properly seated. Rerun the Self-Calibration.
- Launch Self-Calibration from a Soft Front Panel: When there is no previous valid Self-Calibration data registered for the device, the device will remain in a loop where it cannot run a Self-Calibration. This occurs because the absence of valid data prevents the self-calibration process from completing successfully. Although there are multiple methods to launch a Self-Calibration for the majority of the VSTs, the recommended way to bypass this error is by launching the Self-Calibration from a Soft Front Panel.
- Open the RFmx Soft Front Panel.
- Click the small gear icon in the upper right corner.
- Then, follow this path <Your Device Name> >> Calibration >> Self-Calibration...
- Below is an example for a VST PXIe-5644 named PXI1Slot8.

- Ensure no external LO is associated with the VST in NI-MAX: Select the VST device in the configuration tree, and in the Associated Devices section, make sure no device is selected in the RF In LO and RF Out LO lists. After doing so, running the Self-Calibration from NI-MAX or with the shipping VI "RFSA Self Calibration" should work.
If the error continues after these steps, contact NI Technical Support for further assistance.
