Error -63150 Executing FPGA Application in a MXI-Express Thunderbolt PXI System

Issue Details

  • I have PXIe chassis connected to a host PC using MXI-Express Thunderbolt system. The following error occurred when I am executing an application that calls an FPGA reference.
  • Below error occurred when I am using RIO Device Setup to deploy my FPGA bitfile to the FPGA target in a MXIe Thunderbolt system.

Error -63150 occurred at an unidentified location
Possible reason(s):
An unspecified hardware failure has occurred. The operation could not be completed.

Solution

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
 
1. Disable and re-enable the FPGA device: 
  • Open Device Manager.
  • Right-click the FPGA module, select Disable device, then select Enable device.
    • Refer to the image below for guidance

2. This is required each time you restart the system
3. Disable Intel Virtualization Technology (Intel VT):
  • Enter the BIOS/UEFI settings.
  • Disable Intel VT and restart the system.
4. Update the BIOS:
  • Install the latest BIOS version if the issue persists with FPGA devices.
