Using NI-XNET CAN with NI CompactRIO Single-Board Controller (sbRIO) in VeriStand

Issue Details

I am looking to do CAN communication with sbRIO-9628 in VeriStand. What should I do?

Solution

sbRIO-9628 comes with an onboard CAN port and is only supported by NI-Embeded CAN for RIO. VeriStand native XNET does not support it. If you wish to use VeriStand native XNET with sbRIO-9628, C Series Board-Only Module sbRIO-9862 and a Mezzanine Card NI 9697 that contains 2 C Series slots are needed. The Mezzanine Card can be connected to the RMC connector on the sbRIO controller.

Additional Information

sbRIO-9862 is not internally powered. It needs an external power supply (9-30V).
