Issue Details

I have noticed that my SystemLink node licenses are not being returned to the available pool of licenses when the systems (clients) disconnect from the SystemLink server. Is this expected?

Solution

It is expected that licenses remain checked out despite of system connection status, this enables SystemLink to preserve the activation information, so, if a system suddenly disconnects due to a network issue or similar, it will be able to reconnect without requiring any interaction to re-enable the activation status.

With this in mind, you should have a number of seats equal or greater than the amount of system you want to keep registered in SystemLink regardless of the connection status you expect them to maintain.

Additional Information

If you no longer need to keep a client system connected to the SystemLink server you can go to the SystemLink interface, select the system and remove it (More >> Remove), this action will return the license back to the pool of available licenses allowing you to use the license for a new system.
