VLM Capture Issue

Solution

This is an expected issue because of the policy and behavior of the non-concurrent licenses. VLM admin and users do not need to constantly monitor the number of seats in use because each seat is assigned and reserved to a single user and/or computer. Therefore, the value serve no purpose to VLM admin/client and the "seats in use" value will constantly show zero. Once the VLM admin approves the client's license request, the seat will automatically be assigned to that specific user and/or computer and cannot be shared with other user and/or computer.

Additional Information

"Seats in use" will change in NI VLM and NI License Manager only for concurrent licenses. This is because each license seat is being shared among a few peoples or a group. Even if the computer or user accidentally disconnected from VLM server, the software still have a grace period of 2 months. Please refer to this Maintaining Constant Connection with NI VLM Server When Using Non-Concurrent Licenses link for more information. Please ensure you are able to activate your software after connecting NI VLM server. The process might take some time, so please check again whether the software has been activated before proceeding with troubleshooting the issue. Please feel free to reach out to NI Support team if additional assistance is needed.
