Issue Details

Is there any overcurrent protection mechanism in PXIe-6363 Digital Output (DO) channels?

Solution

There is a Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) thermistor for each DIO for current protection but still it is recommended to use external protection. Some options are given below:

  • Use low-current external fuses.
  • Placing a resistor in a series of less than 200 ohms will naturally restrict the current.

Additional Information

In addition, NI does not recommend using beyond the specification listed in the manual for any NI hardware.
