System Is Empty On NI Distributed System Manager

Issue Details

My system under Network Items shows up empty on the NI Distributed System Manager (NI DSM) when I click on "+" to expand it.

I can connect to my system/resource via Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) and LabVIEW.
How can I monitor my system via NI DSM?

Solution

If your system shows empty, try to add it manually on the NI DSM. Follow the instructions below.

  1. Navigate to the Actions tab on the NI DSM window.
  2. Click Add System to My Systems...

3. A pop-up window will appear as shown below:

4. Here we have to write the IP address of the resource; in our case it would be the cRIO's IP address.
5. Click OK.
6. New System will appear under the "My Systems" accordingly.

Additional Information

This behavior might be seen when connected via VPN as well.
