Error -63193 Occurred At an Unidentified Location When Deploying FPGA Code to a Linux RT CompactRIO Target

Updated Nov 1, 2023

Issue Details

I am trying to deploy FPGA code to a CompactRIO target running Linux Real-Time (RT). When attempting to deploy my bitfile through LabVIEW or the RIO Device Setup utility, I receive the error:
Failed to establish connection
Error -63193 occurred at an unidentified location

Possible reason(s):
The requested feature is not supported

How do I resolve this issue?

This error comes from an incorrect connection to the NI-RIO server on the CompactRIO. To solve this try on of the following steps:
  • If you are using the NI Linux RT System Images, install both NI-RIO Server and NI-RIO Server (Legacy) onto the CompactRIO through NI MAX.
  • If you are using the legacy cRIO image, install NI-RIO onto the CompactRIO through NI MAX.
  • The issue can be caused also by the software installed on the host PC. Make sure to install and properly activate the required software for your NI RT target. If the software is already installed, try a repair or a fresh install.
