Issue Details

When I tried to configure the downconverter frequency offset property for I/Q acquisition, it showed the error:
Error -1074118301 occurred at niRFSA Read IQ (Complex WDT 1Rec 1Chan).vi
Possible reason(s):
The signal is outside of the downconverter passband

How should I know the valid value for downconverter frequency offset?

Solution

NI-RFSA and RFmx drivers only allow us to set the downconverter frequency offset up to half of the instantaneous bandwidth. You can obtain the instantaneous bandwidth value based on the hardware specifications.

For example, NI PXIe-5840 (table below) with I/Q carrier frequency set at a value range of 1.3 GHz to 2.2 GHz will have instantaneous bandwidth of 500MHz. Therefore, the downconverter frequency offset will be up to a maximum of 250MHz.

Additional Information

The window error message indicates what the instantaneous bandwidth is for the specified center frequency and the maximum or minimum value that the downconverter frequency offset supports for the setting.
