LabVIEW FPGA Module: Using the IP Integration Node for ISE Target on Windows 10

The IP Integration Node requires a local Xilinx FPGA compilation tool. However, there is no compatible compilation tool available for ISE targets on Windows 10, as stated in LabVIEW FPGA Module Compatibility with Windows 10. The following is a workaround for such a case.

  1. Prepare a Windows 7 computer, installed with the Xilinx Compilation Tool for ISE.
  2. Copy the LabVIEW project to the Windows 7 PC.
  3. Configure the IP integration Node and import an external IP and compile the FPGA VI locally.
  4. Copy the FPGA bitstream (.lvbit) file back to the Windows 10 developing machine.
  5. Call the bitstream file on the Windows/RT host vi.
