Windows Security Stops NI Software Installation

Issue Details

  • I am trying to run a silent installation of LabVIEW and drivers using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (previously known as System Center Configuration Manager or SCCM), but when it gets to the part where it installs the DAQmx driver, the windows security prompts and stops my silent installation.
  • I am not able to get past the Windows Security prompt that repeatedly asks me whether I want to install the NI software from NI Package Manager:

Solution

Before installing any NI software on a Windows PC, please make sure you follow the steps below:
  • Ensure you're logged on with an account with Administrator privileges.
  • Run the installer as Administrator.
  • Disable all virus protection software and firewalls.
  • Try installing the software on a different computer to verify if it's only one PC or if something in the network setup is affecting all PCs.
  • Try installing the Offline Installers instead of the normal installer.
This issue is not specifically related to NI software installers but is more a Windows Security blockage. We highly recommend talking to your IT department to help you configure the right settings on your network and PC.
