Are USB UVC Cameras Supported in NI Vision?

Issue Details

I have a USB UVC camera, and I have installed the latest NI Vision Acquisition Software version on my computer. Nevertheless, I have not been able to communicate with the camera either using LabVIEW or NI MAX. The camera seems to be recognized, but I cannot perform any type of operation or configuration change in it.

Solution

The reason you are not being able to interact with the camera from LabVIEW or NI MAX, is because IMAQdx is not compatible with USB UVC camera types on Windows unless there is a DirectShow driver that was developed by the manufacturer of the camera.

Additional Information

Although the USB UVC camera types are not supported in Windows, they are supported in NI Linux RT and can run in real-time targets.
