  • Why can't I save my VI/Project using LabVIEW Professional Development System? 
 
LabVIEW: Generic error.

Cannot save VI ".vi".
LabVIEW Save error code 3: FP Heap.

Solution

The recommended steps to fix this issue are the following: 
  • Try to copy the front panel and block diagram content into a new VI and save the file in a new directory. 
  • Open the VI on a new version of LabVIEW, check if the save option works, and save it for the desired previous version. Then, try to use this VI on the previous version. 
  • Reinstall LabVIEW.
  • Upgrade to a newer version of LabVIEW.
