Issue Details

  • I have LabVIEW installed but I cannot see my cDAQ controller in NI MAX.
  • What software/drivers should I have to use my NI Linux RT cDAQ controller?
  • I am attempting to install software on cDAQ controller but I am not able to, NI MAX says there is no software to be installed.

Solution

The cDAQ controllers running NI Linux RT are also real-time targets, so in order to program your cDAQ controller, you need to have the following software installed on your computer in this order:

  1. LabVIEW Development System
  2. LabVIEW Real-Time Module
  3. NI-DAQmx drivers
Before installing the software on the host computer, make sure that the software to be installed or updated supports your target .

Additional Information

When installing the software please consider these caveats:
  • The LabVIEW Real-Time Module is only compatible with the 32 bit version of LabVIEW.
  • Make sure that the software versions installed in the target match the ones in your host computer
  • After installing the software onto your computer, you may need to install software to your cDAQ Controller. The procedure to be followed should be the same as when installing software on a cRIO device.
