By using NI Volume License Manager (VLM) and license files, you can manage licenses for NI products used within your organization on a license server. Install Volume License Manager on the server PC, load the license file, and complete the initial setup.
Next, client PCs send activation requests to the license server over the network. The server PC then approves these requests and grants permission to use the specified licenses, activating the software on the client PCs and making it ready for use.
This document walks through this process and demonstrates how to configure the system so that licenses can be distributed from the license server to client PCs.

Volume License Manager (VLM) initial settings on the server PC

1. Download and install Volume License Manager (VLM) download link. After installation, seacrh for the software using Windows Start menu and  launch it.

5. Set "Configure VLM Log Settings" and "Configure Email Preferences" only when using these features.

When the VLM settings are completed and restarted, the server status is stopped as shown below, and the Service Expiration date displayed  is the expiration date of the license file. Click on Start Volume Licensing Server to start the server.
