Can I Configure My cRIO-9045 as a PROFINET Master ?

Issue Details

I am using a cRIO-PN-S C series module in my cRIO-9045 controller. I would like to establish PROFINET communication with my pressure sensor which can only act as PROFINET slave. Can I establish communication with my sensor using the cRIO-PN-S module?

Solution

cRIO-PN-S can only be used as a PROFINET slave module. To establish PROFINET communication with cRIO-PN-S, you will need a sensor or a device which can act as a PROFINET master controller. So a PROFINET slave sensor cannot be used to establish communication with a cRIO-PN-S module. Unfortunately, NI does not have a c series PROFINET Master module. However, you can use the PXI PROFINET Interface module which can be configured as a PROFINET master or slave device.
