Do the USB 3.0 Ports on PXIe 8840 Share Bandwidth?

Issue Details

I have 2 devices connected to the 2 USB 3.0 ports on the PXIe-8840. I want to know if the maximum rate of transferring data over USB 3.0 will be affected if I use both USB 3.0 ports at the same time. 

Solution

The USB 3.0 ports on the PXIe-8840 do not share a USB hub, so the USB 3.0 ports don't share data transfer rates and bandwidth, meaning that each should be able to utilise the maximum rates and bandwidth for USB 3.0. 

Additional Information

USB 3.0 is also known as USB 3.1 Gen 1. The theoretical maximum speed of USB 3.0 is 5 Gbits/s (625 MB/s), but this depends on the length of the USB 3.0 cable (recommend max length of 3m) and the quality of the cable.
