Issue Details

I am working with a GigE Basler Camera which I can see in NI MAX, however, whenever I try to Snap or Grab images I get the error 0xBFF6902A or -1074360278.

Solution

There are a few common cases where GigE cameras don't work correctly. For more information on those specific cases and how to troubleshoot them, please check the tutorial, Troubleshooting GigE Vision Cameras Used With NI-IMAQdx Driver.

One important thing whenever we're working with Basler cameras is to make sure their cameras work correctly with their driver. Once we've confirmed this, we also would want to update the camera's firmware to ensure proper compatibility with other drivers, such as Vision Acquisition Software.

Update: Basler released a firmware update December 2020 that solves this issue in some cases. Basler doesn't publish the firmware updates, it is best to contact Basler tech support, they should be able to give you access to the right firmware.
