DIAdem Will Not Start After the Splash Screen Shows for a Brief Moment

  • I just installed DIAdem and when I open DIAdem I see the splash screen for a couple of seconds and it closes without any error. I tried repairing and reinstalling the software without any success.


This issue happens when some dlls are not correctly registered in the installation process. To solve this issue, please follow the steps below.
  1. Open the command prompt(CMD) as an administrator. You can do this by searching on the windows menu "cmd" and select "Run as administrator".
  2. Run the following commands:
    • cd C:\Program Files\National Instruments\DIAdem 2020
    • where regsvr32.exe
  3. If the Response is “C:\Windows\System32\regsvr32.exe” then execute the following commands.
  • "%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\regsvr32.exe" "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\DIAdem 2020\DataFinder_GUI.dll"
  • "%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\regsvr32.exe" "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\DIAdem 2020\DataStoreElements_GUI.dll"

Alternatively, please install the latest version of NI-DAQmx from the following page: NI-DAQmx Driver Download. This process will update some important NI libraries on your PC and help DIAdem to load everything correctly during the start.

Additional Information

If it still doesn't work after the above-mentioned steps, it is likely that the error is related to End Point Protection being used. During the installation, it is necessary to have access with admin privileges to the registry. During the DIAdem session, the registry must be open for normal uses access. In addition, all DIAdem relevant files and directories must be set on a “whitelist” of the End Point Protection software.
