With NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) version 4.7 and System Configuration 1.1 or newer we can change the date/time on a remote target through MAX.  You will need to install NI System Configuration Remote Support 5.1.0 or later to your remote target from the LabVIEW Real-Time Software Wizard in MAX.  This article with walk thought how to set the date and time on your Real-Time target.

  1. In Measurement & Automation Explorer, find your target under Remote Systems, and right-click Software.  Choose Add/Remove Software to open the Real-Time Software Wizard.

  1. Choose Custom Software Installation, and ensure that NI System Configuration Remote Support 5.1.0 or later is chosen by left clicking the box next to the item and choosing Install the Feature.  Selecting to install NI System Configuration Remote Support will include additional dependencies to install as well.

In order to have this software component, you must have LabVIEW 2010 and LabVIEW Real-Time 2010 or later installed. If you have an earlier version of LabVIEW and LabVIEW Real-Time, you will not be able to set the date and time on your remote target from MAX.

  1. Once this NI System Configuration is installed on your target, you can adjust the time settings of your controller using the Time Settings tab in NI-MAX as shown below.

If you're unable to set the date and time through MAX, you can set it programmatically by using the RT Set Date and Time VI for LabVIEW 2010-2011 or Set Time.vi for LabVIEW 2012 or newer.
